It's been a loooong winter so outdoor sessions haven't really been in demand, so it's nice to have a studio for a change of pace and some nice clean backgrounds! Daylight savings has come and warmer weather isn't far behind. Book your spring session now for prime weekend sessions!
I photographed a couple of sets of best friends last week to kick off February as "International Friendship Month." Underwater photography is a blast! This summer I spent a lot of time experimenting with my new Panasonic Lumix underwater camera. It took a little getting used to but thankfully I spent time on Cape Cod, my friend's lake house and my sister's pool and eventually got some shots I was very happy with. The lens was on the small side so it wasn't easy to take a photo half in and half out of the water, but Christmas is coming and the Nikon 1 AW1 Mirrorless Camera will be on my list as the solution to that problem!
Mother's Day is just around the corner (May 12th in case you're unaware!) and I'll be running my first ever Mother's Day photo studio session at Maya Studio on Bergen Street in Prospect Heights. I will need an assistant on Saturday, May 11th from 3 p.m. til 6 p.m. and also on Sunday, May 12th from noon til 6 p.m. Know anyone who'd like to learn about photography by assisting for the day? Or perhaps you'd like to help out and earn a free family photo for yourself and family? I would need help getting unloaded/loaded and set up/broken down. But, most importantly, I'd also need someone to meet and greet the clients as they show up for their appointment. I tried doing it single-handedly last year for Father's Day, but it was a bit much for one person alone.
